Evan Beutler was born on November 26, 1992 in Dothan, Alabama and has Canadian/ American dual citizenship. He is the son of Rolf and Nathalie and has one older brother, Tommy. Evan was a three-time state champion for his soccer club, the Enterprise Wings.
He graduated from Enterprise High School where he led his team’s assists in 10th grade, was the region Player of the Year in 11th grade, and was the team captain and leading scorer of his team in 12th grade. Evan proceeded upon graduation in 2011 to Lipscomb University (Division 1) in Nashville, Tennessee and played there for one season. He transferred to the University of West Alabama where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Physical Education.
His sophomore year, Evan scored five goals and led his team with four winning goals. During his junior year at UWA, he was named to the NCAA Division II All-American Academic Team. He was also one of three Tigers to earn All-Gulf South Conference First Team. He posted three goals and four assists for the season. Evan became UWA Men’s Soccer’s captain during his senior year. He collected 5 goals and 5 assists in his last year there. After graduating from UWA, Evan went on to play for the Detroit Waza Flo in the MASL (Major Arena Soccer League) where he played professional indoor soccer. He posted 5 goals and 4 assists for the Waza flo. Now, Evan is very excited to continue his professional career and contribute to the York Region Shooter’s success.
